Brief Description

Tsinghua University was founded in 1911 and is a comprehensive university with strengths in economics, management, law, engineering, science, philosophy, literature, art and history. Tsinghua's science and engineering departments have built up a strong academic platform in the fields of architecture, information, energy and materials, taking advantage of its comprehensive disciplinary strengths to achieve world-class research standards. Tsinghua School of Economics and Management is the first business school in China to be awarded the AACSB and EQUIS accreditation, two of the world's top accreditations for management education. Tsinghua is ranked 17th in the world and 1st in China (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) in the QS 2022 World University Rankings; 16th in the world and 1st in Asia in the Times Higher Education 2022 World University Rankings; and 1st in the world in engineering, computer science and civil engineering in the 2020 U.S. News World University Rankings.     1. Chinese Government Scholarship
    The scholarship application should be directed to the local Chinese Embassy or Consulate. The application time is usually from November to April (varied from country to country). Please find out the application information of your country in advance. Please refer to the official website of the Scholarship Council of China (Study Abroad in China: http://campuschina.org/ ).


    2. Beijing Government Scholarship
    The outstanding international undergraduate freshmen can apply for tuition scholarship (full/half/partial) for the first academic year. Applicants can apply through the Online Application System. The scholarship for the second, third, and fourth academic years can also be applied during the study in Tsinghua University.

    At present, Tsinghua University mainly provides the following scholarships for outstanding prospective full-time international graduate students.

    Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS): The Full CGS usually covers tuition, stipend, on-campus accommodation (or accommodation subsidy), and medical insurance. The Partial CGS includes one or a few items in the Full CGS. Annual Review is strictly required for all CGS holders.

    Tuition Scholarship: For example, the Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students, covers full or partial tuition fee with a duration of one academic year. Applicants may apply for Tuition Scholarships annually (competitive).
