Brief Description

Situated in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Universiti Malaya (UM) is Malaysia's oldest and top university with a rich history of achieving numerous accolades and delivering the best academic experience with an excellent research environment and world-class educational facilities. The university is currently ranked 65th in QS World University Rankings 2021, making it the only Malaysian higher education institution in the elite pool of the world's top 70 universities, and is also ranked 8th in QS Asia University Rankings 2021.


As a world-class university with a melting pot of culture, UM hosts more than 4,400 international students from over 76 countries and offers over 200 academic programmes encompassing a broad spectrum of learning, with 37 subjects listed in the Top 200 QS World Rankings by Subjects 2022.
