Geographical Location: candidate members must be a university based in Asia.
Intention to Contribute Actively to AUA: prospective members must identify with the mission of AUA and express an intention to actively participate in the current AUA events and possess a willingness and capability to host future events.
Representativeness: prospective members must be representative of leading higher education institutions in their country or region.
Social Responsibility: prospective members must strive to address regional and global challenges and to contribute to the advancement of human development.
AUA Expansion Limit: AUA membership is limited to two institutions per country or region.
